Located in downtown Gurnee, on the corner of Route 41 and Old Grand Ave (at the old KFC location) we have opened Donny's Diner to provide our community with a classic American diner. We strive to create a comfortable, inviting space where people will gather to eat delicious, homemade style foods at reasonable prices. Whether you're looking for a quick breakfast before work, a family dinner after school, or just need some time out from your busy schedule to grab a cup of coffee and catch up with friends, we hope to welcome you into our family here at Donny's. Home of the World-Famous Broasted Chicken
Broasting is a unique cooking method developed by the founder of Church's Chicken over 60 years ago. It involves hand-battering the chicken pieces then pressure-cooking them in a special broaster to seal in juices while developing a crunchy exterior. The result is a flavorful piece of chicken that is both tender and juicy. This unique cooking process allows us to achieve the crispiest exterior possible without sacrificing any of the natural juices within the meat. We take pride in preparing all of our broasted chicken in house using this exact same process to ensure the best possible product.
